Born in Inarua, Sunsari, Ms. Barsha Shrestha is a veteran with more than 3 decades of experience in banking and finance industry. Currently, she is the Business Head of ICRA Nepal, the first Credit Rating Agency in Nepal. She is former deputy CEO of Clean Energy Development Bank Limited (2008- 2015). She started her banking career at Nabil Bank Limited in 1984 and left in 2008 as Head- Privilege Banking.

Ms. Shrestha has been awarded with ‘National Woman Award 2009’ by the Civil Voice for Peace and Development, ‘Woman Manager Recognition Award 2010’ by the Management Association of Nepal. She was also awarded ‘SMS Achiever’s Award 2011’ by Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal in recognition of her exemplary achievement and contribution in her field as a woman.

Ms. Shrestha serves as member of Board in CEDB Hydro Power Development Co. Ltd, Asian Network for Sustainable Agriculture Bio- resource Nepal (ANSAB), IDEA Studios Nepal, Nepal Ambulance Service (NAS). She is also a National Council Member of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).

Ms. Shrestha has also undertaken role as trainer in various institutions with a goal to share her experience and guide the youth to achieve their goals.

Ms. Shrestha has participated in various professional activities including DPG round table discussion on Advancing BBIN (Bangladesh Bhutan India Nepal) sub regional Cooperation held in Kolkata and Kathmandu during 2017. She successfully enrolled Clean Energy Development Bank Limited as a member of Global Alliance for Banking on Values, the first and only bank from Nepal. She was also the Speaker at ‘Fair Banking Guide’ held in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Further, she participated as speaker/panelist in various programs organized by Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC), Center for Rural Technology Nepal (CRTN) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) and others on topics related to renewable energy. She was also a panelist on Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2014 and 2017.
